Wish List |
 |
Wool Horse Blankets – prevent
slippage especially needed for riders with balance issues.
These blankets don’t have to be new. We can clean them, so
don’t throw that old blanket away. |

smaller new riders and volunteers.
|
 |
Highway Cones
– To create and label handicapped parking spaces at our
facilities and to use as markers for our independent riders.
|
 |
Horse Care
- Feed and vet care for our horses, for a month or a year. We
have a horse with special feet needs – special shoes.
|
 |
Copy Paper - There is lots of paperwork
that we do. Paper is always in short supply. |
 |
Portable PA System
– To
provide our riders with a better means to hear us with in the
outdoor arena. |
 |
Devonshire Safety stirrups
– To keep our riders who are in saddles safe. |
 |
Folding Tables or Display Tables

might need financial assistance. |

Some of the
things therapeutic program horses are doing for others.
Independence Farms program horse CB, helps out during the
Washington County Rodeo June 9 & 10. He carries Miss rodeo K-State
and the American Flag during the Grand Entry and also helps her
clear the arena after certain events.
Soldiers and horses
from the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, also known as The Old Guard,
at Ft. Myer in Arlington, VA are helping other soldiers. Amputee
soldiers from nearby Walter Reed Army medical Center are
participating in a therapeutic riding program there. The horses
have become a living therapeutic apparatus that aids the use of
prosthesis; helps them improve their core muscle group and
increases self-confidence.
