IF News April 2003
Rider News: Our riders have successfully completed another 10 week session with many wonderful improvements made along the way. Each rider is learning to rein, mount, dismount and back up their horses. New games, new challenges, and always smiles from each accompany the sessions. We look forward to the next 10 week session which begins May 4th at 3:30pm.
Volunteer of the Month: Emily Hughes
Congratulations Emily! Emily is a native from Washington, KS. She attends high school and will graduate this year. Her plans are to attend Midway College in Kentucky and to pursue a major in Equine Therapy. She has a brother and a sister and her hobbies are riding, dancing, and spending time with friends. Emily learned about IF through Terri Gauby. She then came to watch a few sessions and then asked where she could help. Emily brings her horse Reno and she side walks or leads. When asked about volunteering, Emily said, “I love it beyond explanation!”. Emily said she will miss everyone next year when she leaves for college but Reno will still be with us from time to time and she asks that we take good care of him. Congratulations Emily and the best to you in your endeavors.
